Athlete of the Month

Since starting training last year, Kelly has been committed to putting in the work and showing up every day.  She has already made tremendous progress and the start of a new year is not slowing her down.  Kelly has learned a new skill, hello swimming!  Learning to swim is no small feat and she has been a true student to the sport, learning what she can to become better, asking questions, showing up to lessons, meanwhile still putting in the work to meet her running goals. Kelly has some big goals on the horizon, and we have no doubt she will get there and can’t wait to cheer her on along the way!

Here is what Kelly says:

“Thank you so much! I honestly feel honored and more than a little surprised and proud to even be called an athlete. I feel like after November, we were able to really push the training and I’m starting to feel some rewards. My easy runs finally feel easy, and my speed is improving (slowly, but surely). When I first joined, I was already well into the training cycle for the wineglass half and Kristin was still able to help me achieve my goals for that race. I’m excited to have started swimming in the last couple of months but I didn’t realize how challenging it was going to be. Every lap and every tedious mile, I think of my kids and how I hope they can learn by watching me do hard things and go for their own hard to reach dreams. Thank you Rise Up for helping me truly become an “athlete.”
