Bryan

It’s been amazing watching Bryan’s journey; last summer chipping away to complete his first Olympic triathlon and now watching him train so hard for two 70.3s this summer. He has a packed schedule and has been so committed to his training. This past weekend he had his first half marathon at Gettysburg and he nailed it, smashing his goal of a sub-1:45 with a 1:42 / 7:52 pace! Here is what he has to say:
‘Thanks so much for choosing me for Athlete of the Month! My mindset for pushing through the half marathon was to go out at a comfortable “pushing pace” and pray I could keep it. My goal was to hit 1:45, so I knew I’d need to push toward a 7:30/8 minute mile pace, and I wasn’t sure I could do it. I knew that my coach believed in me, and I put in the work. I trusted the process and believed I could hit the time as long as I paced myself and did my best with nutrition. Thoughts going through my mind throughout the race were my family, my team, and why I am here. Those things are what motivates me and keep me sane. This is just the beginning and I look forward to the rest of the season.’
