Cindy’s dedication to triathlon has not gone unnoticed both in training and outside of training. Her hard work has most certainly paid off with a spot to World’s 70.3! Because of her continued hard work and dedication, we chose her for athlete of the month.
“I am thrilled to be chosen as Rise Up Racing’s Athlete of the Month for July! This team has become a centerpiece in my life. I thought for many years that I’d like to pursue triathlon when my kids grew up. When Happy Valley was announced in fall 2022, having grown up in Bellefonte, I knew the time was right to dive in. But, how do I even get ready for this? I need a coach, I thought! So, I went to the USA Triathlon website and searched for coaches in my area. I found Robin! She looks nice, I thought. I sent her an email, we scheduled a call, and next thing I know, I not only have a coach, but I joined a TEAM! I didn’t even know tri teams existed! And then, just as fast as I found Rise Up Racing, I signed up for three more triathlons! This journey has been a whirlwind and I just think how lucky I am to be a part of a team with super supportive teammates and a deep culture of caring, respect, and inclusivity. Additionally, Rise Up Racing has provided a pathway for me to introduce kids to the world of triathlon and I can’t wait to see them race at Steelman! Thank you, teammates and coaches, for putting in the miles with me and all the encouragement! This team is truly special.”
